 How to start UPSC PREPARATION FROM SCRATCH & UPSC Booklist





1. First download the syllabus of UPSC CSE (If you can't find it out,then DM to get the link) Get it printed.


2. Now read it, understand the syllabus for day or two (i mean literally repeat the process till you get the gist of exam pattern)


3. Now prioritise the subjects for instance Polity, Economy, History, Environment, Geography (you can follow the same sequence,bcoz no of ques come from these subjects are as descending as order)


4. Now if you want to do self study just search above subject on YouTube like this


(let's say you want to learn Indian polity search- Indian polity masterclass UPSC) and after that you can easily finish the book.


5. You can Complete each subject in the manner you want like online/offline sources


6. Start reading and analysing the newspaper along with it (you can also watch daily newspaper analysis on YouTube,just search on YouTube for daily newspaper analysis & better to follow one or two authentic sources only)


Don't give more than 2hrs on newspaper reading/ analysis.


7. Keep yourself updated with current events!


8. Most importantly Revision is the key to UPSC(success)


Keep revising your static portions and don't forget to analyse your performance!

Environment: Shankar IAS book OR PMF IAS environment book, Current Affairs magazine (monthly/yearly)


History: Ancient and Medieval- Poonam Dalal & NCERTS; Art & Culture- Nitin Singhania & NCERTS; Modern History- Spectrum & NCERT


Science and Tech: 9,10th NCERT for basic understanding or any coaching institute material,Current Affairs magazine (monthly/yearly)

Economics: Mrunal sir notes & classes, NCERTS

Geography:

GC Leong, Class 11,12th NCERTS or PMF IAS geography books

Maps:


Orient blackswan Atlas, Current Affairs magazine
