Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayant

• To remember his contribution in India's freedom struggle, Subhash Chandra Bose's birthday is celebrated every year on 23 January in different parts of the country.


• Subhash Chandra Bose, also known as Netaji, was an Indian nationalist leader and revolutionary who played a major role in the country's struggle for independence from British rule.


• In 1919, Bose was selected into the Indian Civil Service (ICS), however, he resigned as he believed that he could not favor the British.

 • He was deeply influenced by the teachings of Vivekananda and considered him his spiritual guru. His political guru C.R. Were slaves.


• In the mid-1930s, Bose traveled to Europe. He researched and wrote the first part of his book The Indian Struggle.


• Bose took over as the elected President of the Indian National Congress in 1938 (Haripura) and stood for Purna Swaraj (self-rule).


• He was re-elected in 1939 (Tripuri), but soon resigned the presidency and formed the All-India Forward Bloc, a faction within the Congress aimed at consolidating the political left.

• Indian National Army: Also known as 'Azad Hind Fauj', was revived in 1943 and was initially formed in 1942 by Rash Bihari Bose.


• Bose led the Indian National Army against the British with the support of Japan during World War II.


• Women Empowerment: A women's regiment of Azad Hind Fauj was formed, which was commanded by Captain Lakshmi. It was called Rani Jhansi Regiment.


• His famous slogan is, "Give me blood, and I will give you freedom!"

• Bose was known for his radical approach towards independence and his strive for complete self-rule.


• He was a contemporary of Mahatma Gandhi and was sometimes his ally and sometimes a critic of his policies.


• Bose's legacy is an important part of India's independence movement.
